Program Information

The MA in Information & Learning Technologies (ILT) Programs help you develop and implement learning technologies such as multimedia lessons, knowledge-sharing tools and online courses in a variety of settings.

You were accepted into one of the 3 different tracks based on your professional and academic interests:

Generally, online classes are asynchronous and do not require students to access course material or login at a certain time

You can take classes at your own pace, choosing courses as they fit with your scheduling needs. Taking two graduate‐level classes is full‐time student status in fall and spring semesters

Most students take 1‐2 classes per semester, especially if you are working full‐time

Portfolio/COMPS

All students are required to complete a culminating experience, known as COMPS, for your master's degree. For ILT students, COMPS is a professional portfolio submitted during your final semester in the program. The portfolio will be published on the Web and presents an opportunity for you to showcase your accomplishments to professionals and prospective employers.

Your portfolio will include items like a résumé, statement of philosophy about learning, instruction, and technology, and examples of projects that demonstrate your mastery of professional competencies and values. For more information on portfolio planning or content, please contact your faculty advisor directly.

*Examples of COMPS can be found here!

Grade Point Average: You are required to maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 ("B"). No course with a grade lower than a B- may count towards the degree and/or endorsement.
